    1. You qualify to write post UTME. You can get admitted if you beat the cut-off mark. Prepare for success in your post UTME.

  1. With jamb score of 210 and olevel results with all credit passes can I still study medical laboratory science with this in unilag ?

    1. 210 qualifies you to write post UTME in Unilag. However, 210 is too low for Medical Laboratory Science in Unilag. The recommended score is 271 or more.

  2. As a part time, national diploma graduate with distinction in a polytechnic, will I be admitted for direct entry in Mls?

    1. The D.E requirements for MLS are
Very good passes in the following JUPEB/A Level subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

B.Sc Degree First Class/Second Class Upper in medically related fields.

  3. I am medical laboratories technician, I want to further my education, are they allow direct entry in unilag, or Eny institution,

    1. Yes Ariyo, Unilag allows D.E. for MLS but the requirements are:
      i) Very good passes in the following JUPEB/A Level subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

ii) B.Sc Degree First Class/Second Class Upper in medically related fields.

        1. You said you scored 257 in UTME so your UTME component is 257/8 = 32.13. Your O-level aggregate is 14.4.

So your current total score is 46.53.

Given that the 2017 merit cutoff for Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) is 67.65 you need 22/30 or more in your Unilag post UTME to have a good chance of making the merit list for MLS this 2018.

  6. Good day sir, I had 280 in JAMB
My O level results in my 5 compulsory subjects goes thus:
    maths: C6
    English:C4
    Physics:C4
    Biology:B2
    Chemistry:B3
And I had a score of 23 points in Post JAMB.
sir, what are my chances of being admitted for MLS?

    1. Your O-level aggregate is 14.4/20. UTME is 35/50. Your aggregate score is 14.4 + 35 + 23 = 72.4 points. Your chances are slim if you are from a catchment area state or ELDS.

  7. Hello Lagtutor,
I have IJMB: Physics (C), Chemistry (C) and Biology (C); O’level: Eng. (C6), Maths (B3), Bio.(B3), Chem.(C6) and Phy (C4). Am I qualified for MLS direct entry admission? Thanks.

    1. Unilag recognises JUPEB. IJMB is not published as a means of direct entry into Unilag. However, your O-level results meet the O-level requirements for MLS.

    1. No. The D.E requirements for MLS in Unilag are:

      i) Very good passes in the following JUPEB/A Level subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

ii) B.Sc Degree First Class/Second Class Upper in medically related fields

  11. If I can’t apply for the MSc programme for MLS, how do I get my way there as a BSc holder in Biochemistry and I don’t want to go through undergraduate DE again? Is there a Diploma program opened for such, then after proceed for Masters in MLS?

  12. Good morning sir, please what may be next year’s cut off mark for medical laboratory science, and requirements for the course because I have a full affinity for the course.

    1. You must have at least C6 in all the following subjects at ONE o-level SITTING: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

You must write English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in UTME. You need 300+ in the exam for a good chance at MLS in Unilag.
