WEST AFRICAN\nSENIOR SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (WASSCE) FOR PRIVATE CANDIDATES, 2020 \u2013\nFIRST SERIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. INTRODUCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) began conducting\ntwo series of the West African Senior Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for\nPrivate Candidates in 2018. The first Series for 2020 will be conducted between\nthe months of January and February, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2020 \u2013 First Series would\nmainly be an urban-based examination. Twenty-four (24) subjects would be available\nfor the examination. Intending candidates are advised to visit the Council\u2019s\ncorporate website \u2013 www.waecnigeria.org<\/a>\n\u2013 to confirm available examination towns and subjects before obtaining the\nregistration PIN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. REGISTRATION\nFOR THE EXAMINATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2020 \u2013 First\nSeries will be online. After obtaining the Registration PIN, candidates should\nlog on to www.waeconline.org.ng<\/a> for\nregistration. Candidates should also note that the registration procedure has\nbeen designed to accommodate biometric features that will be used for\nvalidation at the examination centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. REGISTRATION\nPERIOD<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The normal registration period is from Tuesday, October 15,\n2019 to Tuesday, December 31, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. MODE OF PAYMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates are expected to pay a registration fee of Thirteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty\nNaira (N13,950) only<\/strong>, at branches of any of the following banks or any\naccredited agent and obtain the Registration PIN and Information VCD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition,\ncandidates will be required to pay five hundred naira (N500.00) commission to the\nbank\/accredited agents.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. WALK-IN-CANDIDATES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates who wish to register for the examination after\nthe close of entries may be accommodated as \u201cWalk-in-Candidates\u201d, provided they\nregister not less than twenty-four hours to the scheduled time of the paper(s)\nthey intend to write. The \u201cWalk-in-Candidates\u201d fee is Twenty Five Thousand Five\nHundred Naira (N25,500.00) only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. CANDIDATES WITH\nSPECIAL NEEDS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates with special needs will also register online like\nother candidates but they must\nclearly state their challenges<\/strong> e.g.\nblind, low vision, spastic, speech, etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. COMPLETION OF\nREGISTRATION <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates MUST conclude registration within two weeks of\nfirst access to the website during the registration period. They should ensure\nthat their names, gender, passport photograph, dates of birth and subjects are\ncorrect. They are also to print the Admission Notice Photo Card, as evidence of\nsuccessful registration, which will serve as identification during the\nexamination. The Result Checker PIN will also be on the PhotoCard. Only Digital\nPersonal Scanner should be used for fingerprint registration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. GENERAL\nINFORMATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Candidates should view the Information VCD\nbefore they register for the examination.<\/li>
  2. Candidates should note that registration fee is not\nrefundable.<\/li>
  3. Candidates should print the examination\nTimetable at the completion of their registration.<\/li>
  4. Entries must be uploaded with passport photographs snapped with digital\ncameras<\/strong>. The passport photographs\nmust be of good quality BLACK & WHITE OR COLOUR<\/strong> (JPEG File only, 275 by\n314 pixels with 72 dpi (resolution) and with CONTRASTING BACKGROUND<\/strong>. There must be no obstructive items such as headgears, caps,\nsunglasses, veils, <\/strong>etc. These items MUST\nNOT<\/strong> obstruct the candidate\u2019s face. Please\nnote that the submission of a defaced or poor quality photograph by a candidate\nwould automatically invalidate the entry of the candidate.   5. Candidates shouls study the Regulations and\nSyllabus as well as the Timetable for the examination which they can download\nfrom WAEC website (www.waeconline.org.ng<\/a>)\nusing the Registration PIN.<\/li>
  6. Candidates\nmust go to examination halls in mufti and without arms<\/strong>. No professional\nuniform of any kind will be allowed in the examination halls.<\/li>
  7. The entire results of candidates who sit\nexamination in *** *** one centre will be cancelled.<\/li>
  8. Smoking is not allowed in the examination hall.<\/li>
  9. Any candidate that comes into the examination\nhall with mobile phone(s)<\/strong> and\/or any\nother electronic gadget(s)<\/strong> will have\nhis or her entire results cancelled.<\/li>
  10. Candidates must ensure that their entries\nare correctly completed before uploading as the Council will not be held\nresponsible for errors in candidates\u2019 particulars. Request for correction\nwill NOT BE entertained on any information which a candidate voluntarily gives\nat the point of registration, as soon as the examination commences. <\/strong><\/li>
  11. Candidates must come into the examination hall\nwith their original PhotoCards.<\/li>
  12. Candidates who engage in examination malpractice\nwill not only have their results cancelled, but may be prosecuted.<\/li>
