    1. Dear Funmi, JAMB is the body set up by law to conduct certain examinations in Nigeria one of which is the United Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

So if you are talking about the examination then UTME is the proper term to use.

  7. Hello Sir I scored 277 in jamb with this subjects combination : English, Commerce, Government and Geography. Can I change institution to Unilag since I did not do Literature in English in Jamb? My O levels are complete.

For your O-levels you need to replace Agricultural Science with an Arts or Social Science course obtained at ONE sitting with your English, Mathematics, Literature and Government.

ii) Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Literature-in-English and any two of Arts or Social Sciences subjects.

      Cheers.

    1. No she can’t.

First, she must score 200 and above to write Unilag post UTME. Second, without Mathematics she does not meet the requirements for admission into any course in Unilag. She should rewrite her O-level examination and make English Language, Mathematics and three other required subjects all at ONE SITTING if she hopes to gain admission into Unilag.

  13. pls I score 269 in jamb,do I get the chance of getting admission into unilag or should I change the course?

    1. You have a chance. But your O-level results must be strong and you must score high in your Unilag post UTME aptitude test.

  14. Hello..Is maths part of the 5 core subjects of Olevel to study law?..my sis had D7..what chance does she have? plus she did well in jamb and the other 4 core subjects

  15. This is my result

  16. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 sir I got Mathematics A1, English B3, Civic education A1, Government A1, Yoruba C6, Economics B3, C.R.K A1 but I got D7 in my literature, please sir, is there a chance I can still get admission to study law with this?

    1. Literature is a required subject for Law in Unilag so the answer is no you can’t be admitted for Law. If you want to use this result you will have to change to a course in Arts, Social Science or Business Administration or Education.

    1. No you cannot study Law in Unilag without a credit in your Mathematics. You must have a minimum of C6 in Mathematics along with the four other required subjects at ONE SITTING in your O-levels.

  17. Please I have 2.1 in Islamic Studies since 2013 and have the desire to study law in Unilag please what other requirements do I need. Hopefully to batch with 2018/2019 admission

  19. pls,i hav credit pass in english, maths, econs, crk, literature in o’level

    1. With a minimum of C6 in English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English, Economics and CRK you meet the requirements for Law in Unilag. So yes, you can apply for JUPEB.

Remember you can get your past questions from us to prepare with for the Unilag School of Foundation Studies entrance examination.

  20. l have credits in the following o level results Mathematics, English Language, Literature in English, Economics, Data Processing and Civics Education. I scored above 200 in the Jamb Exam. Am I qualify to study law. All my results are in one sitting.

  21. Please sir, I got d7 in my literature for waec but I haven’t seen my neco grade in literature. If I credit literature in my neco, can I still be considered to study law in uni lag?

    1. If you credit English Language, Mathematics, Literature and two other relevant subjects in your NECO, yes you can be considered to study Law in Unilag.

  22. Good day sir. I have second class upper in mathematics from unilag and will like to study Law via d.e. My UTME combination when I gained admission to study mathematics were mathematics, physics, chemistry and use of English. I have a O level results that meet the requirements. But my question is, since it’s JAMB that gives admission, wouldn’t my UTME combination matters?

    1. Dear Lawrence, if you meet the O-level requirements for Law and have a second class upper from Unilag then you have no business worrying about your old time UTME subject combination. Go straight and apply for direct entry through JAMB. Buy the D.E form, fill it and submit it. Submit a copy of the application form with the admissions office at Unilag and follow up.

Remember the O-level requirements for Law are: Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Literature-in-English and any two of Arts or Social Sciences subjects.

  23. pls sir my literature is yet to be release and have apply for Unilag post utme form, hope it doesn’t affect my admission and if yes what is expected of me for not loosing my admission

    1. Your Literature must be released in time for the admission process. But so far you can carry on and write the post UTME.

  24. Hello admin
Please I just finished my national diploma in law from unical and I want to further to get my llb in unilag please what are the requirements and do I stand a chance of been admitted to the school?

    1. Dear Favour, the O-level requirements for Law in Unilag are: Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Literature-in-English and any two of Arts or Social Sciences subjects.

The UTME subjects are: English Language and any three Arts or Social Sciences subjects. Lagos does not accept Music, Fine Arts and Principles of Accounting. Lagos accepts either Economics or Commerce but not both.

The direct entry requirements are: Very good passes in JUPEB/A Level Subjects: Literature-in-English and any two Arts or Social Sciences subjects.

First Degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper.

  25. I’ve second class upper in philosophy at Imo state university, can I do my masters in public and international affairs or any course related to that. Also if choose law as my second degree at what level will I start. Please guild me .Thanks.

    1. With second class upper in philosophy you can apply for masters in public and international affairs or related course if you meet the course requirements.

If you apply for Law by direct entry you will begin at 200 level.

  26. Good day sir, I have LL.B at Law as my first degree, and I want to study law at unilag as a second degree, please what’s the requirements and what level would I start from. thanks.

  27. Hello Sir,

you said categorically that someone with a D7 in Maths in O’level certification can not get admitted as a Law student in Unilag and also someone with second class lower division in his/her first degree can not apply for Direct
Entry to study Law in Unilag.

My question is, what would you advice one who is in this two category?

    1. If the person in the above category wish to gain admission into Unilag to study Law then he/she should work towards meeting the published admission requirements for Law.

  28. hello sir….I have calculate all my points…
    for jamb i have 30.75
    o level i have 15.30
nw dey said d post utmeresult is out ….
    I downloaded the PDF
    and i saw 14….
can i still study law 🙁 in unilag ??

    1. Please I graduated with second Class upper as a B.A holder in philosophy… But I did sciences in my O level exams. Do I still qualify for Direct entry to study law at Unilag

      1. That is I did sciences in my secondary school, cleared my waec with As and Bs, but there is no literature cos I was a science student, in this case do I still qualify to study law

        1. Please is there any other alternative for me… Like picking literature in English among the subjects I will write during Direct entry exams. Considering also the fact that the course I did at the University is Philosophy

          1. I got B2 in English Mathematics and CRS in Waec. Didn’t omit Literature in English during waec out of choice… It was rather what was obtainable that science students pick science subjects then in my Alma mater

          2. There is not published alternative for you. Literature is a required o-level subject for Law in Unilag

  29. Sorry for bothering you with this Sir…. But I wish to confirm.. Now I have to re-register for waec, then take those subjects (Literature in English, Government and Economics) which I didn’t take in my previous waec then combine the two results? since I have met every other requirements for Direct entry

    1. Unilag only accepts O-level results made at ONE sitting. This means that you must make English Language, Mathematics, Literature and any two Arts or Social Science subjects at the same sitting.

      1. OK thanks so much. I do appreciate… Any two arts or Social science subjects…. Here one can as well combine like picking GOVERNMENT which is an art and GEOGRAPHY which is a social science subject…or must it be the case of either these two arts subjects (Government & CRS) strictly or these two social science subjects (Economics &Geography) strictly (no combination)
        Thanks once again

        1. First Unilag considers Government a social science subject.

Any two arts of social science subjects means ‘two arts subjects’, or ‘two social science subjects’ or ‘one social science and one art subject’.

  30. Hi. How about a prospective student with a BA in History with a 4.2 (on a 5 point grade scale) but meets O Level requirements for Law in 2 sittings?

    1. Unilag requires that O-level results be made at ONE sitting.

The meat is that undergraduate admission into Unilag is so competitive such that you will have other applicants like you who will meet their O-level requirements at ONE sitting. Having met that requirement the job is easier for the school admissions committee to select such applicants ahead of you.

  31. Good day sir, unilag just released their cut off mark 2018 ,tho i didnt meet the merit cut off but i met the cut for my state (oyo) which is 60.075,now this is the issue my aggregate is also 60.075 ,i know i met the cut off but am i eligible for admission or is it necessary i pass the cut off mark ?,pls i would really appreciate if u can reply me
